How Eric Swalwell Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb
To the best of my recollection, I first saw Eric Swalwell when he was interviewed on the Tucker Carlson Show. I wasn’t totally paying attention when he was introduced, so, listening to him answer questions with meaningless talking points in a robotic and almost lifeless manner, devoid of any intellect, I assumed that he was just another hack for the Democratic Party. Well, it turned out that I was half right. He is all of the above, but, he is also a member of the House from California. It is actually Eric Swalwell (D-CA).
Swalwell continued to appear on various shows spouting his tired rhetoric until very recently when he got into a Twitter dustup with a couple of people concerning a proposed gun buyback plan which would actually be mandatory as there would be criminal penalties imposed against those who did not comply followed by forced confiscation. That was met with comments about resistance something in the nature of Charlton Heston’s speech, before the NRA, containing the phrase “from my cold dead hand”. To this threat of civilian resistance, the congressman from California responded with a jaw-dropping statement of epic stupidity when he said “And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities’. Just for the record, Atomic Eric has suggested that he might throw his hat in the ring as a presidential candidate for 2020. My guess would be that he wants access to the nuclear launch codes.
But on a serious note, notwithstanding Swalwell’s absurd and mindless threat to incinerate bothersome gun owners, his statement provides a sizable window into the minds of Leftist Progressives as to their attitude toward the Second Amendment. It’s the destruction of the “right to keep and bear arms” by a thousand cuts until those rights have been effectively neutralized. Somewhere along the way gun registration will be passed and when the government knows who LEGAL gun owners are and where they are, forcible confiscation will begin, perhaps under the guise of mandatory buy backs.
As bizarre as Swalwell is, he must be taken seriously and the philosophy behind his words understood. He and others like him are a threat to the rights and freedoms of the citizens of America.
